Oral Check-up and Diagnosis

Comprehensive Assessment for Your Oral Health

An oral check ups is the foundation of good dental health. It allows us to assess your current condition, identify any potential issues, and create a personalized treatment plan to keep your smile healthy and bright.

Thorough Assessment of Your Oral Health

During your comprehensive oral check ups, our dentists will begin with a visual examination of your teeth, gums, and oral tissues to identify any signs of decay, gum disease, or other abnormalities. We’ll also perform a thorough oral cancer screening to detect any potential issues early. To get a clearer picture of your oral health, we’ll take digital X-rays, which provide detailed images of your teeth and jawbone, allowing us to detect problems that may not be visible during a visual exam.

Following the examination, we’ll clean your teeth at Millennium Smiles Dental Center to remove plaque and tartar, preventing cavities and gum disease. Finally, we’ll discuss our findings with you, answer any questions you may have, and develop a personalized treatment plan to address any concerns.

Benefits of Oral Check-Up

Regular checkups allow us to catch problems like cavities, gum disease, and oral cancer in their early stages, when they are easier and less expensive to treat.

By identifying potential issues early, we can prevent them from worsening and protect your oral health.

Regular checkups ensure that your teeth and gums stay healthy and strong, allowing you to enjoy a beautiful smile for years to come.

What is Included in Your Comprehensive Assessment?

A routine visit to Millennium Smiles Dental Center goes far beyond simply looking for cavities. Our expert dental team performs a meticulous, multi-point evaluation to map out your overall health and prevent issues long before they impact your daily life. Your comprehensive check-up includes:

Periodontal (Gum Disease) Screening

We evaluate the health of your gums and check for any signs of inflammation, bleeding, or receding tissue. Catching early gum disease (gingivitis) prevents it from advancing into serious bone loss.

Oral Cancer Screening

Your safety is our highest priority. We perform a swift, painless screening of your throat, tongue, lips, and oral tissues to check for any unusual patches, tissues, or signs that require specialized attention.

Bite and Jaw Alignment Evaluation

We check how your upper and lower teeth meet when you chew. This helps us spot structural imbalances, uneven enamel wear, or early symptoms of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) stress.

Existing Restoration Assessment

If you have prior dental work—such as fillings, crowns, bridges, or veneers—we inspect their current condition to ensure they remain structurally sound, well-sealed, and free from hidden decay.

I went to get my dental filling done by another clinic a week before, and I was very dissatisfied. Upon drilling, my previous dentist recommended for extraction right away. And that was two of my molars. I did not want them extracted so I ended up leaving that other clinic with temporary filling on two of my molars which are essential for biting, and it was very uncomfortable. In just a few days, I could feel the temporary filling disintegrating-- I wanted to cry. Then I found this clinic. Dra Aly did not give up on my teeth. She said my molars were still viable for permanent filling, when a week ago I was told I'd lose them. Dr A is such a blessing! She applied medicine on my teeth and did a remarkable job on the permanent filling of my molars. They look good as new! And the color of their filling is very close to the color of my teeth. I'm also comfortable eating because the fillings are strong. I love it! Would recommend this clinic 100%.

If you've been looking for a dentist on social media, for sure you'd see posts poking fun at missed appointments and/or unhealthy habits. And though these might cater to some folks, these make me uncomfortable. This made me try Millennium Smiles when there are other clinics nearby. Doc A and staff are professional, accommodating, caring, and very understanding. I'm terrified of dentist visits, hence I delay them for as long as possible, but I feel comfortable and cared for at Millennium Smiles. Really cannot recommend them enough.

The Long-Term Value of Routine Diagnostic Care

It is a common misconception that you only need to visit a dentist when a tooth begins to hurt. In reality, by the time dental issues cause physical pain, the underlying problem has often progressed to a point where it requires extensive, costly restorative treatments like root canals or extractions.

Prioritizing a biannual oral check-up at our Manila clinic offers significant long-term benefits:

  • Stops Decay Before It Spreads: Early-stage enamel demineralization or tiny surface cavities can often be reversed or treated with simple, highly conservative methods rather than large fillings.
  • Protects Your Systemic Health: Your oral health is directly connected to your overall bodily health. Chronic oral infections and progressive gum disease have been heavily linked by medical research to systemic conditions like heart disease, diabetes, and stroke.
  • Creates a Tailored Care Plan: Every mouth is unique. Regular diagnostic tracking allows us to build an evolving dental profile for you, adjusting our clinical advice and treatments to perfectly fit your lifestyle, age, and wellness goals.

FAQ

Most Question we had

Dental FAQs: Our FAQ section answers your questions about Oral Check – Up and Diagnosis

An oral check-up is a regular examination by a dentist to assess your overall oral health and identify any potential problems. It includes a visual inspection of your teeth, gums, and mouth, along with a discussion about your dental history and any concerns you may have.

Generally, adults should have an oral check-up and cleaning every six months. However, your dentist may recommend more frequent visits if you have a higher risk for dental problems, such as gum disease or tooth decay.

During an oral check-up, your dentist will:

  • Examine your teeth for signs of cavities, wear, or other damage.
  • Check your gums for signs of inflammation, bleeding, or recession.
  • Inspect your tongue and oral tissues for any abnormalities.
  • Take X-rays if necessary to assess the health of your teeth, gums, and jawbone.
  • Discuss your oral hygiene habits and provide recommendations for maintaining good oral health.

If you are a new patient at Millennium Smiles Dental Center, please bring a valid ID and any relevant medical history records. If you have had dental X-rays taken at another clinic within the past six months, you can request to have them forwarded to us to help guide your diagnostic assessment.

A routine, comprehensive check-up usually takes between 30 to 45 minutes. This gives our dentists ample time to complete a visual evaluation, perform necessary diagnostic imaging, discuss our findings clearly with you, and answer any questions you might have about your personalized treatment plan.
